Botox Treatment

What is Botox Treatment?
Botox is an advanced, non-invasive cosmetic treatment in which the purified form of bacterial toxin, Botulinum, is injected at the target site to relax the muscles temporarily and thus reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases caused by facial expressions such as smiling and frowning. It is FDA-approved for cosmetic use and has been safely and effectively used by millions of individuals worldwide.
How do Wrinkles Form?
Wrinkles are a natural outcome of the aging process. The facial muscles repeatedly contract and expand with changing facial expressions over the lifetime. As we grow older, however, the dermis (middle layer of the skin) slowly loses elasticity-providing ingredients – collagen and elastin. The fatty subcutaneous (bottommost) layer of the skin also loses fat over time. When these things happen, the skin gets thinner and less moisture gets to the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin).

How does Botox Work?
Botox works by obstructing signals from the nervous system to muscles, reducing contractions and preventing wrinkles. By targeting specific muscles, Botox can eliminate dynamic wrinkles—those caused by repeated facial expressions, such as smiling or frowning. Common areas of the face that are treated with Botox include forehead, nose, mouth, chin, jawline, neck and around the eye.
